UTS Central Rooftop Terrace

UTS Central Rooftop Terrace

Woven into the city
The public domain and new building landscape interface is carefully woven together to integrate the ground plane with the city and new entry plaza to Broadway, Jones Street and grand stair connection to alumni green open space.
Garden courtyard terraces
Garden courtyard terraces respond to the facade shape and provide a summit experience that extends and showcases the student experience within external garden spaces. These landscaped terraces provide an array of vegetation and take full advantage of their aspect, including trees and a vertical green winter garden trellis providing vital breathing spaces for the new campus building.
A large north-facing terrace and smaller south-facing terrace on level 8 provide outdoor learning commons spaces with seating and gardens, accessible through the Library.
A rooftop terrace
A rooftop landscaped terrace with views onto Darling Harbour is located on level 17, alongside an event and meeting space. Semi-enclosed and naturally ventilated ‘winter garden’ balconies with feature planting are accessible from levels 9 to 16 on the northern facade.
BIM management
For the UTS project fjc undertook the role of BIM Manager. We established protocols and coordinated BIM models from the entire consulting team including landscape.
