Build to Sell

fjcstudio designs apartments for sale that buyers choose to call home for the long term. Each building responds to its place, with apartments planned around daylight, outlook and a sense of address.

Our work spans King & Phillip Residences in the Sydney CBD, The Harrington Collection in The Rocks and Wonderland at Central Park, Chippendale.

King & Phillip Residences, Sydney

A sandstone loggia, podium and tower in Sydney’s heritage legal precinct, with ‘Eora’ by First Nations artist Jake Nash facing Queens Square.

The Harrington Collection, The Rocks

Townhouses and apartment buildings scaled to the pubs, warehouses and workers cottages of The Rocks, each responding to its own streetscape.

Wonderland, Central Park, Chippendale

The final residential stage of Central Park for Frasers Property Australia. A sinuous, curvilinear form defines a north-facing green public space and a new eastern gateway from Regent Street.

Build to Sell Approach

Homes, Not Units

We plan apartments around daylight, outlook, cross ventilation and generous layouts, the qualities owner-occupiers value most and live with every day. Storage, room proportions and the relationship between living spaces and balconies are considered in detail, so each home feels generous and works well for the people who live there.

Responding to Place

Scale, form and materials are drawn from each site. At The Harrington Collection, the street-facing townhouses match the size and rhythm of the neighbouring cottages. Responding to context helps new buildings belong to their streets, and gives buyers homes with a character and sense of place that is hard to replicate.

Address and Arrival

Lobbies, colonnades and street frontages give each building a clear sense of address, like the two-storey sandstone loggia at King & Phillip Residences. The arrival experience sets expectations for every home within, so entries, lobbies and corridors are designed with the same care as the apartments themselves.

Connecting with Country

Integrated artworks by First Nations artists tell the story of each place, such as ‘Eora’ by Jake Nash on the eastern elevation of King & Phillip Residences. Planned from the outset, art becomes part of the architecture, giving residents and the public a connection to Country and to the history of the site.

Distinction in the Market

Distinctive architecture and considered detailing set each project apart, supporting sales and lasting value for owners. In a competitive market, buyers look for quality they can see and feel, from the street presence of a building to the finishes they touch every day, and design is how that quality is expressed.

Quality that Lasts

Durable materials and careful craft in joinery and stonework give interiors and common areas a sense of permanence. Finishes are selected to age well and to be easy to maintain, so buildings keep their quality for owners over many years and continue to feel as considered as the day they were completed.
