Collaboration Across Disciplines
Research advances where disciplines meet. At the Charles Perkins Centre, biomedical, computational, clinical and social science research share one building, with a large central atrium that forms its social heart and a place for casual exchange.
Flexible Laboratories
Within the Charles Perkins Centre’s 50,000 sqm, more than 16,000 sqm are wet and dry laboratories. We plan laboratories for efficiency and flexibility, so research groups can grow and change without major rebuilding.
Sustainable Research Buildings
Research buildings are energy intensive, so sustainability is designed in from the start. The Tyree Energy Technologies Building at UNSW houses energy research and teaching, and achieved 6 Star Green Star under Green Star Education v1.
New Life for Historic Laboratories
At Reuben College, the first new college at the University of Oxford in almost 30 years, Grade II listed laboratory buildings were transformed for research, teaching and college life, in one of the University’s largest decarbonisation and decontamination projects.
Research in a Clinical Setting
The Wolfson Building at the John Radcliffe Hospital houses the UK’s first dedicated centre for stroke and dementia research, with purpose-built space for the Wolfson Centre for the Prevention of Stroke and Dementia and the Wellcome Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging.
