Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery

Tasmanian Museum Art Gallery

The Stage 1 Redevelopment of The Tasmanian Museum & Art Gallery is a subtle but dramatic addition to the highly distinctive and significant heritage fabric of TMAG. The Redevelopment project involved considered integration of new contemporary and conservation works, which was done to best practice and in accordance with Burra Charter principles.
The focus for the Redevelopment was to work within this unique existing heritage fabric to provide public access to all parts of the site and to discover and reveal new opportunities within this built fabric, including areas which were previously unavailable for public access due to the configuration and fragile nature of the buildings.
