Bunjil Place Plaza

Connecting the facilities
The landscape plays an integral role in shaping the civic and communal experience at Bunjil Place. It forms a cohesive connection between the various facilities, including a theatre, library, exhibition spaces, and public gathering areas, under the protective and sheltering wings of Bunjil. The landscape seeks to create a sense of place that is both welcoming and inclusive, encouraging people to gather and interact in sun-drenched settings or shaded areas year-round .
The heritage of the land
By carefully considering the natural history and cultural significance of the land, the landscape enhances the site’s connection to its heritage. The gathering spaces are designed to be inviting and accessible, blending seamlessly with the architecture. The landscape also incorporates native plants and materials, grounding the design in its local context and ensuring that it feels like an authentic extension of the surrounding environment.
Working with the community
In collaboration with community stakeholders, fjclandscape worked to ensure that the landscape interventions would serve both functional and symbolic purposes, creating a public domain that fosters a sense of belonging while reflecting the rich cultural stories of Country.
