Working with Government
State-led plans involve many agencies, councils and communities. We work with the lead agency and its advisers to test options and prepare the urban design evidence each stage needs, from early scenarios to the final precinct plan and the controls that put it into effect.
Testing Scenarios
We test options before settling on a plan, so government can compare yield, amenity and public benefit side by side. At Blackwattle Bay, three draft scenarios led to the urban design statement for the state-led precinct rezoning, finalised in 2022. Testing early makes trade-offs visible while they are easy to resolve.
Country and Place
A Connecting with Country framework by Bangawarra, with input from Murawin, shaped a softer and more organic masterplan at Blackwattle Bay. It reflects the original shoreline, reintroduces local ecologies through planting and coastal restoration, and makes space for welcome and performance across the precinct.
Long-term Frameworks
Precinct plans are realised over many years and by many design teams. Clear principles for height, setbacks, public space and staging give each later project a firm brief, as at Acton Waterfront, where the framework respects the Griffin Legacy and guides the staging of the waterfront.
